Starling Removal Cincinnati
Starlings prefer a more open grassland type habitat but can be found in many types of environments. Starlings are aggressive birds and can frighten off smaller birds. Because they travel in such large groups the areas they live can have bird dropping issues. Starling droppings can carry diseases some of which can be distributed by air. When the wind picks the germs up it can blow them into the air where humans can breathe them in.
If starlings have become a nuisance for you, try to make the area less attractive to the birds. Replace bird feeders with sunflower bird seed. Starlings will not eat sunflower seeds. Ensure all garbage is secured so insects are kept at a minimum. Treat lawns and grassy areas for grubs and other lawn insects. Take the time to perform some home maintenance covering vents and sealing cracks or crevices that might make the starling think of building nests on or around your home. Dump out standing water. In addition to starlings needing to drink, mosquitoes breed in water and will provide ample food for a starling flock. Starling repellents are not very effective and removing what is attracting the starling to your property is more effective in controlling the starling population.
